Privacy Policy

The Echo Current LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the GreenKeep mobile application (“GreenKeep” or the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are
The Echo Current LLC is a New York limited liability company. GreenKeep is our soil-temperature-driven lawn care app for iOS.
We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through GreenKeep. The third-party services listed in section 5 act as our processors.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us

2.2 Information we collect automatically

2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not request or store precise device location. We use only the zip code you enter.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera.
- We do not collect health, financial, or biometric data.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate GreenKeep — delivering soil-temperature-timed task notifications, recording your lawn care progress, syncing your data across devices.
- Maintain and improve the App — diagnose problems, understand which features are used, fix bugs.
- Communicate with you — send you task notifications you’ve enabled, respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, profiling for marketing, or sale to third parties.
4. Legal bases for processing (EU/UK users)
If you’re in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction subject to the GDPR or similar law, the legal bases we rely on to process your information are:

5. Service providers (sub-processors)
We share information with the following third-party services to operate GreenKeep. Each acts as our processor under a data processing agreement.

We do not share personal information with any other third parties except as required by law (e.g. response to a valid subpoena).
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the App. Specifically:
- Account data, lawn profile, and garden data: retained until you delete your account.
- Lawn task history: retained until you delete your account, so you can see year-over-year trends.
- Soil temperature and weather data: keyed by zip code, not by user. Retained on a rolling basis for service operation; deletion of your account does not remove zip-keyed data, since it is shared across all users in your area and contains no personal information.
- Analytics events: retained for up to 24 months for product improvement purposes, then deleted or aggregated into anonymous statistics.
- Subscription receipts: retained as long as required by Apple’s auditing rules and applicable tax law (typically 7 years).
7. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from inside the App: Profile → Delete account. The flow requires you to type DELETE to confirm; the action is irreversible.
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your profile (zip, grass type, preferences, display name, email association)
- Your lawn task history and progress
- Your garden beds, plants, and action logs
- Your saved reminders and tip history
- Your authentication record
Soil temperature data for your zip is not deleted, since it is shared with all users in your area and contains no personal information.
After deletion, your data is removed from our database within 24 hours. Backups are purged on our normal rolling schedule (within 30 days).
You may also email info@theechocurrent.com to request deletion if you cannot access the App.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate information. Most fields you can edit yourself in Profile.
- Deletion — Delete your account and all associated personal data (see section 7).
- Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / restriction — Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Consent withdrawal — Withdraw consent for processing that relies on it (e.g. push notifications).
- Lodge a complaint — With your local data protection authority if you believe we’ve violated applicable law.

8.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you reside in California, you have the rights listed above plus the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. Section 2 and section 5 of this Policy provide that information.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8.2 EU/UK residents (GDPR)
Section 4 lists the legal bases under which we process your information. You have the rights listed in section 8 plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The Echo Current LLC does not have an EU representative; you can contact us at info@theechocurrent.com.
9. International data transfers
Most of our service providers are based in the United States. Open-Meteo is based in Switzerland. By using GreenKeep, you understand that your information may be transferred to these jurisdictions.
Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms with our service providers.
10. Security
We protect your information using:
- Transport encryption — All data between the App and our servers travels over TLS.
- At-rest encryption — Supabase encrypts the database at rest.
- Authentication — We use Apple Sign In and email magic-link auth via Supabase. We never store passwords.
- Access controls — Database row-level security restricts each user to their own data.
- Service role isolation — Privileged server operations (e.g. account deletion) run server-side under a service role that’s never exposed to the client.
No security system is perfect, but we follow industry-standard practices. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
11. Children’s privacy
GreenKeep is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email if you’ve shared one with us. Continuing to use GreenKeep after a change constitutes acceptance.
